Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
Many of us feel a bit bereft over winter, when the garden is at its least ostentatious. But one advantage of this time of year is the opportunity to pay closer attention to details which we hardly notice when distracted by the glitz and glamour of flowers and fresh growth. It would be a shame to pass by the trunks of these old goat willows (Salix caprea) without stopping a while to marvel at their deep fissures; the rough, green-grey valleys and the silvery peaks. And I think I may have just realised why I had a sudden urge to bake lemon and almond biscotti over the weekend.
