Day 132: May morning spotlight

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

There’s a certain quality of light on early on a May morning. If you venture out early and don’t mind getting wet feet, you might just catch the rising sun playing games in your garden, shining through hedges and picking out little corners here and there that you might otherwise pass by. And it doesn’t matter to me that the tulip stems are almost bare, and the forget-me-nots are going to seed, or even that there’s a dirty great dock in that bed that needs pulling out (please let the ground be soft enough to get it out all in one go – SO satisfying). Because when the sun decides to spotlight a patch in your garden, everything in it becomes a star.
