Day 304: bulb delivery

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

The tulip bulbs have arrived. Not an outrageous quantity, but I’m still going to have a job working out where they’re going to go – well... I say that, but this year I decided upon severely reducing the space between them so, really, it shouldn’t be that hard. And there’s nothing here that won’t get on well with what’s already in the beds, so if they get mixed up a bit, all the better. Of course, as soon as I’d (eventually) gotten around to putting my order in, news appeared on the Instagram garden grapevine (Emma Jo’s stories) that ‘La Belle Epoque’ was back in stock – and since it’s tantelisingly close to my colour palette, I’m now wrestling over whether or not to put another order in. Of course, if I wrestle for long enough, they’ll go out of stock again and my decision will be made for me.
