Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

One of the easier ferns to grow as a houseplant, the Blue Star fern (Phlebodium pseudoaureum) places few demands upon the indoor gardener. Like most of its ferny friends, it will almost certainly find its way to the humidity of your bathroom in time. An epiphyte in the wild – where it fastens itself to trees and other structures rather than anchoring roots deep into soil – all it really wants are a light potting mix and a splash of water every fortnight. A small price to pay for its greeny-blue company.
