Monstera deliciosa, leaves in dire need of a dusting, and stems of a closer acquaintance with its mossy pole
Our swiss cheese plant has moved back downstairs, though it’s yet to let us know whether or not this is a good thing. The Christmas tree displaced many of the larger houseplants to far flung corners of other rooms, and all but the monstera made it back to their usual spot early in the new year. I liked to see its luxuriant presence at the end of the bed but, although it was happy in a lighter room, it began to outgrow the space, several leaves becoming collateral damage as we passed back and forth. I’ve given it a top dressing, and probably a little more water than it needs – though not enough to make it weep (monsteras often do this when overwatered, a process known as guttation). Not crying then, but not exactly overjoyed – maybe I’ll dust its leaves. I think it might be sulking.
