Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

I’m a little behind with my chilli seedlings, only just sowing them now. There’s just time – chillies like a long season, and I would have been better off starting them off on a window ledge in February. Do not worry that early sowings will become tall and leggy and prone to bending over – they probably will, but the simple solution is to plant them deeper when potting them on, burying a good section of the lower portion of the stem in the compost.
